MJM Kids Arts & Movement Camp (July 9-July 13)

Does your child show interest in drawing, painting, illustrating characters or crafting with their hands? This program offers a week long intensive for kids to participate in not only painting and drawing activities but also mask making, printmaking, comics and illustration and also drawing from life here at our beautiful park. This program is offered to not only inspire their creative minds but also teach them some new art practices and techniques. Each class also begins with a special outdoor yoga session. Arts & Movement camp is suitable for children ages 6-12.

Due to a generous grant from Columbia Presbyterians C.H.A.L.K program, all campers will receive a tuition scholarship, but there is a $5 registration fee per child. Campers must commit to a minimum of 4 days of this 5 day program.

MJM Kids Theatre Camp (July 16-20)

This program is calling on theater lovers, aspiring actors, actresses or anyone who wants to have a fun time meeting new friends and putting on a little show! Connecting with our current professional theater program occurring at the Morris-Jumel Mansion, this summer we are offering a 5-day intensive theatre program which will consist of multiple theatre techniques, such as “clowning”, “mask” and diving into the history of the theatre.

We would prefer total commitment to the last 2 days of the camp as they are dedicated to putting on a short-scripted performance at the end of the program. We hope you join us for all 5 days of wonderful theatrics and a great time at Manhattan’s Oldest House. Theatre camp is suitable for children ages 6-11.

MJM Kids Garden Camp (Aug 6-10)

Garden Camp is a week of exciting exploration, instruction and discovery held in our beautiful Roger Morris Park. Morris-Jumel staff gardener Karen Waltuch leads the group of young plant enthusiasts through activity-based lessons about gardening, bugs, soil, botany, colonial history and everything in between! This program is good for children ages 6-11 and children must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

Due to a generous grant from Columbia Presbyterians C.H.A.L.K program, all campers will receive a tuition scholarship, but there is a $5 registration fee per child. Campers must commit to a minimum of 4 days of this 5 day program.

MJM Kids History Camp (Aug 13-17)

Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? This summer we are offering the chance to learn about Colonial life in New York City, the history and importance of the American Revolution and many of the important roles that helped in the formation of our country.

Children will also learn about the early settlers to NYC including the lives and roles of the indigenous people that were first here on Manhattan. Activities for MJM History Camp are designed with New York State 4th grade curriculum standards and are appropriate for children ages 6 -12. Campers must commit to a minimum of 4 days of this 5 day program.

MJM Teens Digital Film Camp (July 23- Aug 3)

This is a special program we are offering this summer for teens. This teen program is a unique 2-week long program that introduces teens to the world of digital film-making.

Teen Campers will learn to write, film and edit all on our museum iPads that will be provided for students.
