Concerts in the Heights: 4 Composers Born in 1865

In 1865, in her second-floor bedroom, Eliza Jumel died. Meanwhile, on the European continent, Jean Sibelius, Carl Nielsen, Alexander Glazunov and Paul Dukas were born. Over the next 75 years, these four would push the boundaries of 19th-century Romanticism and help lay the sonic groundwork for 20th-century modernism. On Sunday, November 8th, Concerts in the Heights will throw a birthday party, playing music from the catalogues of all four. Tickets are $25, $20 for members. Advanced registration is required. To RSVP, call 212-923-8008 or email marketing@morrisjumel.org.
