This month at the Morris-Jumel Mansion we will be celebrating Black History Month with award winning spoken-word performance-recording artist, actress, self-empowerment speaker and educator Gha'il Rhodes Benjamin! Gha'il will present stories in the oral tradition of African-Americans, which are steeped in the history of a strong people, at 12:00 and 1:00 in the Colonial Kitchen. Then, from 12:30-1:00 and 1:30-2:00, children can create their own pop-up story cards inspired by Gha'il's performance to take home! This event is free with museum admission.
