Morris-Jumel Mansion is set up to allow for a self-guided visit, but those seeking a guided experience can chose from the following options:
Every Saturday at noon one of our knowledgeable and friendly docents is at the Mansion to lead you on a one hour tour. You will hear the history of the house as well as stories about the people who lived here. Advance registration is suggested.
The first Sunday of each month, a tour will be held at 1:00PM. The format will be similar to that of the Saturday tour.
Tours for groups of 10 or more people can be scheduled 7 days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a minimum charge of $60 for groups of less than 10 or for individuals. Please fill out the online form or call 212-923-8008 to make a reservation. Advance registration is required. These instructions apply to the following guided tours:
Guided tour focusing on the architecture, period rooms, and history of the Mansion and its inhabitants. It is about an hour long.
Guided walking tour explores the four block historic district that surrounds the Mansion. Focus on historic preservation and Harlem Renaissance residents. It is about an hour long.
Mansion Tour plus Neighborhood Tour
Combine the above tours to get a complete picture of the Mansion and its surrounding historic neighborhood. This tour is about 90 minutes (or an hour and a half) long.
