Summer Camps at The Morris-Jumel Mansion
Summer camps at the Mansion are a week-long intensive program that serves to enrich students and engage them in the Mansion’s history.
MJM Kids Garden Camp (August 5 - 9 or August 12 - 16)
Garden Camp is a week of exciting exploration, instruction and discovery held in our beautiful Roger Morris Park. Local arts and environmental educator, Sally Fisher, will lead the group of young plant enthusiasts through activity-based lessons about planting, pollinators, composting, and everything in between!
Thanks to a generous grant from Columbia Presbyterian’s C.H.A.L.K program, all campers will receive a tuition scholarship, but there is a $5 registration fee per child. Campers must commit to a minimum of 4 days of this 5 day program.
MJM Kids History Camp (August 19 - 23)
Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? This summer we are offering the chance to learn about Colonial life in New York City, the history and importance of the American Revolution and many of the important roles that helped in the formation of our country.
Children will also learn about the early settlers to NYC including the lives and roles of the indigenous people that were first here on Manhattan. Activities for MJM History Camp are designed with New York State 4th grade curriculum standards and are appropriate for children ages 6 -11. Campers must commit to a minimum of 4 days of this 5 day program. Registration fee: $150. A minimum of 8 campers is required to run the camp.
